As of 2021, our studio is in the heart of downtown DC, near all of the museums and government buildings. Because of this, I have been taking some trips over to see some of the museums which I haven’t been to in a really long time due to the pandemic and closings. The museums are a great place for me to just go sit and think, write, and draw. The movement of people through exhibits along with the presence of art everywhere just makes them so enjoyable to be in for a while.

I had no idea what I would sketch when I was there. Just that I’d use colored pencil on chalk paper. Have some things missing due to the the texture. The landscape was inspired by Wilkinsburg in the early 2000’s. The second is inspired by my involvement in a shooting. Go figure. Sketchers gone sketch is how I see it.
