In the summer of 1997, I took a trip to Detroit to be a part of a good friend’s wedding. The whole family travelled up to the D and not only did we attend the wedding, we also did some sightseeing. One of the places I remember vividly, was Hart Plaza. There were groups of men playing chess, vendors selling their wares and people just out and about enjoying the weather and socializing.
