I’m not a photographer, but I play one from time to time in my own little series called life.

For some reason, this image made me feel good. The ofttimes disrespected pigeon or dove can appear regal. Check out the reddish one right below the hawkish-looking pigeon about to land on the fountain at DuPont Circle. I had a high shutter speed, so it augmented the drama in one still.

I remember the pigeons in East Liberty when I was a child. I’d unsuccessfully try to catch one, as the flocks of birds pecking and stepping around the concrete turtles that patterned the sidewalks in the center of the commercial district would move perfectly away from my stomp or grasp. We are forever interconnected, even if it seems aloofly so.
