Meeting David was such a surprise. I had no idea what to expect. He is a multi-talented artists and educator, but he showed up with a garbage can. As he sat and warmed up, he asked could he use the small wastepaper basket in the room we were to record in. “Sure”, I replied as he then did a short song using those two “instruments.”
I was so inspired in post and thought about the garbage can he brought and reflected on how much I used to love exploring the alleys of DC with my son Excel when he was a child. I chose the alleys because he could have more freedom to safely move around and there’s a lot of interesting things in the backroads of a city.
Fusing these two together seemed to work out just fine. Enjoy!
