Those Concrete Turtles
As a child growing up in Pittsburgh, I lived in a neighborhood called East Liberty—pronounced, s’liberty. Right around the corner from my apartment building were these concrete turtles that my brother and I (along with every other kid in the neighborhood) would climb and jump from. This concrete turtle is in NW Washington DC.
With some help from a gentleman named Mike Garrahan I was apprised of their origin and creator. Jim Miller-Melberg (http://jimmillersculptor.com). Felt good to find this out.
